Description
The Malawi eyebiter (Dimidiochromis compressiceps) is a species of predatory cichlid fish found in Lake Malawi and other parts of East Africa. Its name comes from a historical observation of fish eyes in its stomach contents, but actual eye-biting is not its normal predatory behavior. It is a popular, albeit aggressive, species in the aquarium trade.
