Description

Lionhead Oranda goldfish are unlike typical goldfish and are easily recognizable by its raspberry-like texture cap on the head. Known as the wen or crown, the cap doesn’t appear until the oranda is three to four months old, and forms fully in the next one or two years. The cap continues to grow until an oranda goldfish is around two to three years old. This noble species hails from Asia but has since become popular with aquarists around the world, who are attracted to its unique wen and remarkable silhouette.
