The Demasoni Cichlid, native to Lake Malawi’s rocky shores, is celebrated for its vivid blue and black vertical stripes and energetic demeanor. This smaller cichlid brings a splash of color and activity to any setup.The Demasoni Cichlid showcases striking dark blue and black bars across its body, making it a visual highlight in any aquarium. Typically growing to about 10 cm, it’s one of the more compact species from Lake Malawi. For optimal care, Demasoni Cichlids need a minimum of 150 liters to accommodate their territorial behaviors. The aquarium should replicate their natural rocky habitat with rock formations that provide ample hiding spots and help manage aggression. Using calcium carbonate substrate is excellent for maintaining the necessary alkaline pH levels between 7.8 and 8.5. The temperature should stay between 23°C and 28°C.
