Description

The Black Neon Tetra (Hyphessobrycon herbertaxelrodi) is a peaceful shoaling fish from the Paraguay River basin. Plan at least 8–10 in a mature planted aquarium with an 80 × 30 cm base. One purchase supplies one live fish in your selected size; sex is not guaranteed.

Aquarium Setup

To provide optimal care for the Black Neon Tetra, a tank of at least 20 gallons is recommended. They thrive in schools, so keeping them in groups of six or more is ideal. The tank should include plenty of plants, driftwood, and hiding spots to replicate their natural habitat. Maintain a stable water temperature between 72-78°F and a pH level of 5.5-7.5 for their well-being.
