Description

The Turkana jewel cichlid, scientifically known as Rubricatochromis exsul, is a small, vibrant, and relatively peaceful African cichlid native to Lake Turkana. It features peach to ruby coloration with iridescent blue spots and is less aggressive than other jewel cichlids, though it can become territorial during breeding. To care for it, provide a minimum 30-gallon tank with plenty of rocks and driftwood for hiding, maintain a temperature of 76-82°F (24-28°C) and a pH of 7.0-8.5, and feed a balanced omnivorous diet.
